You need to have a relevant amount of experience in a domain, to become a manager. Depending on the kinds of possible industries you are into, you can either become a People's Manager (managing a team of people) or become a Project / Program Manager to manage projects and achieve end goals for your organisation and customers.

for instance, i have a relevant experience of 8 years in the IT Industry, and planning to get into Project Management now to move higher in the hierarchy of the organisation.

Becoming an Army officer has a couple paths you can choose. It depends if you want to go active, or guard/reserves. Either one requires a bachelors degree. You can always look into the different military academies such as West Point. They are very competative, but are the best route, with huge reward from graduating from them. Once you have a degree you can go to a recrutier about going into the Officer Corps. I would suggest speaking with a recruiter ASAP to get all of the intricate details. You may find that you want to enlist first in the reserve/guard, go to school, and then upon graduation go through OCS, or an officer program, and get your commission. That was the route I took, but ultimately decided to stay enlisted.
