Bashobi’s Answer

In the early days, we simply had Computer Engineering, which encompassed hardware, some machine learning, networks, and powerful 3PL. These 4 fields together stood for Computer Technology. In the technology-modern days, these 4 still form the basis., to allow one to pursue/focus on a particular line of technology.

Leon’s Answer

Computer Technology degree possible careers from the Internet. "This degree prepares the student for careers such as computer application programmer, medical records specialist, computer security professional, database administrator, computer system manager, computer network manager, software engineer, Management Information Systems (MIS) manager, customer support engineer, computer sales representative, or educator and trainer in the field of computer applications."

I have an MIS degree from Syracuse University and it has allow me to work in many different areas of business. MIS degree gives a well rounded exposure to business and you can major in one of many areas. I majored in Computer Technology and minored in Law. I also took courses in Finance, Transportation, Accounting and the general courses that are required for a diploma.

After graduation and 40 + years of work, I participated in most of the careers described on the Internet. The computer industry is so busy that if you volunteer to help an associate in a different area the answer is always yes.

Leon recommends the following next steps:

Review the list of possible careers and use the Internet to learn more about each career. Think about which career is better for you but remember you will probably get involved in a minor way for each career.
