Jane’s Answer

Hey Daniela,

I would recommend taking AP and dual credit courses that focus on the sciences to help you gain possible college credit, which saves you money in the longterm, and give you some exposure to science before college. I recommend biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy & physiology, statistics (or calculus) and psychology. These classes will prepare you for pre-medical college coursework because they are the pre-reqs for medical school.

Good luck!

Rosalyn’s Answer

Hello!
I am a clinical pharmacist, but when I was in high school I was planning to go to medical school. I would suggest taking biology and chemistry classes to see if they interest you. You will have to take a lot of these courses in undergrad. They will also be a part of the curriculum in medical school, pharmacy school, nursing school or whichever medical path you choose.

Richard’s Answer

Take as many AP or IB courses in high school, especially science and math. You have a lot of years of education in front of you and getting college credit in high school can save you time and money.

Yasemin’s Answer

Hi Daniela! The medical profession really focuses on sciences a lot! That being said usually in high school science courses are part of the curriculum but AP classes are more on the side of science classes that incorporates more of the harder medical curriculum at an earlier part of your path. AP Biology, AP Chemistry and AP Physics can be very helpful; in addition I would also take Anatomy and Physiology, it isn't an AP class but it is offered and very helpful to medical science studies!

Best of luck!
