Curtis’s Answer

When I was 18, I was still unsure of what I wanted my working career to look like. Eventually, this led to my decision to join the military where I was put into a network engineering position. After doing this for a few months, I realized I enjoyed doing this work. I would would extra hours just to spend more time working on routing and switching. It became a hobby for me. My advice would be to start doing something if you are not sure. If you are looking into coding, take some free online classes for a while and see if it interests you. Start studying the areas you are curious about to find out what you may have a passion for.

Todd’s Answer

Hello Dallas. I played baseball in 11th grade too. I played second base on the Twins. One thing to remember is to think about what you like. Going into a career doing what you like makes it more of an investment in life for you. You will be more successful. Because you are so young you can start at the ground floor of the business that you choose. This will allow you to learn every aspect of the business so that when you reach the top you are experienced and can bring much to the position you are reaching for. One great key to success is when you are looking at your next promotion, do that job before you are in that job. This will show leadership that you are dedicated and serious about the position.
