I think this is a very big decision to make. Since you aren't sure what you want to study I would first do some research on what industry or type of job you might like. I would look up positions that have specific types of roles you like to solve. For example, if you like analyzing numbers and working with data you can list that or if you are more of a person that likes working in teams to solve problems you can list that. From there keep going with questions. Do you want to be outdoors in your daily job or inside doing computer work. Once you do have an idea of the field of work you are interested in I would research IF a doctorate is something that is necessary. A lot of jobs might not need a doctorate and it is a big money and time commitment.
If you do see that it will help your career or is necessary to advance yourself in the desired field I would then try contacting the universities that have that as an option and see if they can connect you with alumni from the program so that you can ask about their experience. I always like to ask what they wish they had done differently or something that they weren't aware of before moving down that path to get a feeling of things they might have missed at the stage you are at now. I hope that helps with making the decision!
