Hello again, Christina

I would look into Internships that involve community service/contact (think life experience). That could mean anything from working with the Police Department in their Crime Prevention Unit to working with the local Boys/Girls clubs to helping out at the local soup kitchen. The main things are keeping your commitment, working well with others and being professional. As a background investigator, I'm more likely to recommend a candidate that took the initiative, did a good job and maintained good grades as opposed to a candidate who just got good grades alone.

Good luck!

Well, it would depend on what agency you were applying to. However, for the most part law enforcement agencies aren't looking for candidates to have experience. Most would rather train you to their particular specifications. But, if you want to have a feeling for what the lifestyle is like then try an internship with your local law enforcement.

Hi Christina! Check to see if the police department in your area offers the junior cadet academy for young people.
