What have your experiences been like on CareerVillage?

I'm an independent artist looking for connections and folks to share their own stories and experiences with me...
I'm also looking for funding and grants to start any type of business based on fashion and visual art.

Hi Karma! I am also an independent artist and have recently discovered this awesome resource, called Art Connect: https://www.artconnect.com/opportunities

They are always posting opportunities to get your artwork featured and apply for grants/competitions. I'd recommend checking it out as it also has a networking/social media function. That is a great place to start and to network virtually.

Once it is safe to do so, I'd also recommend searching for artist events - whether gallery openings, networking events, or even craft fairs. All of these types of environments are ideal for meeting other artists, sharing ideas, figuring out ways to collaborate, and learning from each other as there are different opportunities in every location.
