How long is the career of a physician assistant and what is it required to become one?

I've always wanted to become a physician, but I was told that a physician assistant does almost the same thing and goes to school for less amount of time. I will appreciate any answer/comments.

Thanks #science #college-major #majors #general

Hi Sandra!

Here some articles that might help you understand the difference.

The important thing for you to do is make sure that the route that you take will fulfill your aspirations. Don't always look for a quick way to a destination, that may not always be the best course of action. Explore and find out which feels right for you and then pursue it. A good place to start would be with your own doctor.

Please keep me posted. I would like to follow your progress!

The above answer is all good. But remember, a physician's assistant is NOT the same thing as being a physician. Not legally, not practically.... Your licensure will be very different from that of a doctor. Enter your profession with no delusions.
