[closed] What are the effects of long term stress from being in an office that go uncontrolled?

Hello,

My name is Aimee and I love learning about fitness and the ways to go and participate in physical activities. In addition, I am a college senior business student with a major of business administration and a concentration of managment. I like to learn more about how stress can affect someone. If it goes unchecked, then how can it harm a person? It is a sad reality for some who get so stressed that they go a day without eating, sleeping, etc. Personally, I do not believe that anyone should have to go through sleep deprivation or malnutrition because of stress. I have learned so far and wish to share my knowledge from a class that someone can cope with stress by exercising, meditating, and finding a quiet place to rest. Exercising can be a great way to increase happy hormones, and it is a way for people to turn off at the end of the day to rest and refuel for the day. Everyone has to have a time to relax, otherwise I think that their soul shrinks and they die inside, if not physically, spiritually, and mentally.

Thank you,
Aimee

Chronic stress disrupts nearly every system in your body. It can shut down your immune system, upset your digestive and reproductive systems, raise blood pressure, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, speed up the aging process and leave you vulnerable to many mental and physical health problems.
Heart Problems

Over the long term, people who react more to stress have a higher risk of cardiovascular disease. This risk particularly is linked to people who tend to be excessively competitive, impatient, hostile, and move and talk quickly. Of these characteristics, hostility is often pinpointed as the most significant.

The common stress response of eating comfort foods, with their accompanying fat and salt, is not beneficial to the heart either.
