Alex’s Answer

Please note that starting a business requires you to deal with a lot of stuff unrelated to your passion: finances, marketing, bookkeeping etc. If you feel unsure about this, it may make sense to start working with someone else and learn the ropes before committing to it fully.

Alex recommends the following next steps:

Talk to small business owners. Ask them how they started, what was surprising. Ask for advice.
Find a couple clients. Are they returning? Are they recommending you to friends? If not, figure out why.
Thank you comment icon Thank you very much for the advice I really appreciate it a lot khatorah

Carol’s Answer

Start by getting a job at a current, successful salon business. Start posting your work on social media to build your brand; Investigate small business loan options in your area; You'll also need some capital to secure a loan - meaning start saving money ASAP.

Shahzad’s Answer

Starting a business is fun and scary at the same time. I have started businesses, some successful and some not so successful. The best thing is that you already know what you want to do. First step in your growth as a business owner might be to go learn from a fellow business owner by working at a hairstylist shop as long as you have a certification for hair styling etc. Once you are there, watch and learn, not just to style and cut hair but also how the owner is running the business. Also pay attention to what you would not want to do in your shop.

When you are ready and have experienced someone else's business environment then you can jump right in with starting your own. Please make sure you have enough savings to survive for at least 6 months when you start your business. You must review at the end of the second year how are you doing in business.

Hoping this helps and good luck.
