Sachin’s Answer

If you love the field and the work that you are doing, it will never be too difficult. There are challenges I would think with regards to working conditions - for example in Texas, where I live the temperature gets to 100F+ in the summer. Some of the welding jobs are out in the field / workshops which may have similar elevated temperatures. The other thing to consider is also the complexity of the posture while welding - sitting, standing, welding above your eye level, etc.
However welding is one of the few critical trades where the rewards are in line with the efforts you put in to develop your skills. While I do not have exact numbers, I have seen job advertisements with good starting pay for welders.

Sanja’s Answer

Nothing is difficult if you set your mind to it. Our friend's son just got his certification for a welder and welders are definitely high demand especially in the chemical plants here in Louisiana. They also do get paid well, $45/hr and up depending on the experience.

Cali’s Answer

I come from a family that had many welders! Father, Uncle, Grandfather, Cousins, to which I would always go into their shops to see their work or ask what big things theyre working on, it ranged from making large machine equipment to being contracted to make sculptures.
So to answer your question, I would say yes but to varying degrees. It depends on the type of welder you want to be AND how good you want to be at it. I have taken only a couple classes on welding, and I would say learning the basics are easy enough, but the challenge is learning new techniques and perfecting the craft. You can check out local career or vocational schools to take classes to see if you like it.
