Hi! This is a great question. It is important to do some research to find out what the job outlook is like for the field you are interested in. I like to use the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) as an online research tool. It is a government website that gives a lot of information on all kinds of careers. It has details on the education/training needed, what the average salary is, how many job openings are expected, and more.
For massage therapists, it states that the job outlook between 2020-2030 is much faster than average, which means there should be plenty of available jobs when you are ready to search!

Don’s Answer

Hello Lauren,

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics the rate of job outlook for 2024-2034 is rising 15% for Massage Therapists. This is a job that is definitely needed, is important in private practices, hospitals, health/fitness centers, Chiropractic/Medical offices, Sports Medicine centers and much more. It is also good because most of the time you will not need a degree but a training program before you start. If you interested I would say go for it. Hope this helps!
