Journalist Ideas

I am currently thinking about being a journalist after my studies. But I didn't really well know about being in this career. Is it hard or if you don't mind can you share your thoughts and knowledge about this professjion. #writing #college #journalism

This is a great career for anyone. Here are some ideas:
1. Create a blog and see how writing daily makes you feel.
2. Use your Instagram account and write daily—again, to test your real interest in writing.
3. Do some research and identify local publications that accept articles, and take the risk and submit something.
4. Read some memoirs/biographies of successful journalists and better understand the profession.
5. Watch related films that capture the magic of journalism—for example, All the President's Men or Spotlight.
6. Don't forget the convenience of YOUTUBE

Anna, as far as I got your query, I am not in this field, however, you are making a great choice but journalism is a serious business these days if one really wants to do it, especially in places where main media stream is no longer regarded as media. I think you should follow some nice reporters in your regional space and national level. With intro of social media Journalism has taken so many size and shapes that ones needs to really think while making any decision.

You can start by writing blogs. Once you feel you write your best, start doing for print media and later electronic media.
