Hi Elijah,

Starting on Youtube should be a thoughtful process. You need to consider why you want to use Youtube and what messages do you want to convey on Youtube. Youtube is well-known as a platform to provide information to other people, like how to fix a bike or how to handle a difficult conversation. There is also an entertainment element as well. So first start with why Youtube. Then make sure that you learn about how to use Youtube - best practices and things to avoid. As a Youtube user, I am generally looking for people who know how to use video. You need to use camera techniques such as light and framing as well as good audio recording tools.

The best way is to simply START! There are always going to be better ways, but it's important to simply jump in feet first and go from there. Start with a phone for shooting and a video editing tool app. There are lots of tutorials out there that can teach you these skills, but ultimately let your personality shine and be authentic. It's best to focus on a niche you are passionate about! Good Luck!

Thank you for the question. Below are a few suggestions :
1. Firstly, have you ever thought about what contents you would like to share on Youtube. The most important is content. You may consider what you have interest on or what you can share.
2. You may need to learn about video editing skills.
3. Watch the videos of the popular youtubers to understand the elements to attract subscribers.
4. Take courses or find more information on the social media to understand how this works
5. Start producing your own video. Review the comments. It can help you to improve.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Hailey’s Answer

Hi,

I personally like to share my life and the things which I am interested in the social media. My recommendation is to communicate with your friends and understand yourself first, what kind of thing you are good at and what is your most attractive personality to other people. Also, to be a youtuber, you can take some video editing courses to improve your technical skills. Watch other youtubers' video to find out what's trending topics.

The best way to start YouTube is just to start - I have started several YouTube channels and the number #1 thing to remember is being consistent. Know why you want to be on the platform - is it just as a hobby? is it for a business? Based on your answer, this will determine your focus.

Also don't worry about having the right equipment, your smartphone is great to start. Definitely take some time and figure out what topic you love and is actually helping other people do something. That's why YouTube exists - to help people through comedy, education, and more.

Take time and watch some of your favorite channels and start taking notes of what you like and what you could do differently as a creator. If you are doing this as a business, take some time and do some research and read blogs and videos on YouTube (latest trends, new features, best practices).

Don't expect quick results - if you go viral then great but that shouldn't be your main focus. Helping others should be. Also, be sure if get feedback on the videos and engage with other people in YouTube comments in the same industry as you. Be open and don't just create videos on what you like if you noticed people like and engage with a certain video more than others - adapt!

Your first video is not going to be the greatest and that's okay. The most successful people on YouTube treat the platform like a full-time job (learning growing and spending hours building community and helping others). Don't wait until everything is perfect - start now and keep trying until something sticks!

Best of luck to you!
