what should be my first step to become a Game Designer?

When I graduate I want to become a Game Designer and just want to know the steps I needed to take.

To become a game designer you should have strong computer programming or computer science skills. It's also helpful to have a graphic design skills. Many universities now have 'gaming' programs, where you'll have access to the classes you need to obtain the skills to pursue a career in game design.
