This is a great question, Vincent!

It can be hard to demonstrate this to employers when you are seeking a job. One of the most common ways to do this is by having previous employers (or mentors) give you a letter of recommendation.

Letters of recommendation provide employers details about your work ethic, strengths, and character that make you a good candidate for a position. Not all employers will ask for them, but you can submit is as part of your application.

Also, never underestimate the value of meeting a potential employer in person. Employers face challenges when recruiting online; they don't get the full picture of a person through a resume. When you give yourself the opportunity to meet an employer in person, you are able to show your demeanor, part of your personality, and communication skills.

One way you can do this is by going to a business in person to request an application. If you must submit an application online, you can still request to speak with a hiring manager to ask questions about the job before applying. You can ask about the hours, culture, the specific role expectations, and what they are looking for in an ideal candidate.

I hope this helps! Good luck on your future endeavors.

Show casing your work is a great thing to do when looking for a job. Here's some suggestions that I have. I hope this helps!

Abigail recommends the following next steps:

Build A Portfolio: Collect all your work that you have done throughout the years and put it together as a portfolio. This could be a hard copy such as a binder or a booklet. You could also choose to do a digital version and save it on your tablet. There are apps out there with portfolio templates. Make sure you take your portfolio to every interview.
Join LinkedIn: Joining LinkedIn gives you the opportunity to connect with employers, and will help to get your name out there as well. If you don't know who to connect with at first just add fellow students from your school. This is another way to showcase your portfolio as well!
Create A Website: Lastly, if you really want to get noticed create a website. Building a portfolio and joining LinkedIn are going to be the easiest out of the three, but if you really want to get noticed a website could help. Wordpress is a useful tool when creating a website. On your website add a section about yourself, give a small glimpse into your portfolio, and add any awards or achievements that you've had throughout the years.

Networking, networking, networking! I would recommend putting a list together of different skills you feel you would like to develop and potentially pursue as a career. At this level in your experience you may not yet have these skills, that's completely fine focus on what sounds interesting to you. With that list get on to LinkedIn and join groups/employers within these specializations. You have just opened up your networking pool in this area! Read up on different topics in the group chats and the various jobs that are posted to gather more information. If you feel comfortable send networking notes to professionals within this group that display professional experience or work within a group you may want to learn about. I have found professionals to be very receptive to a genuine networking note from people trying to learn about their company and who are genuinely curious. This conversation can open doors and if they can't help, ask if they can point you in the right direction to who in their company may be willing to connect and discuss your background. You've got this, enjoy the ride and be yourself!!

Terrific inquiry! There are several methods to showcase your talents. One approach is to display your abilities through your accomplishments that necessitate those skills in your resume. For a broader audience (prospective employers), LinkedIn is an excellent social platform to create your profile and expand your connections. Utilize LinkedIn to emphasize your skills and have individuals familiar with your abilities endorse you. You can also branch out to other social platforms depending on your preference. Lastly, always keep your social platform profile and resume current.
