Everyone has unique motivations and desires in life, and this holds true for those who enjoy programming and computer science. People are drawn to this field for various reasons, such as the potential for high-paying jobs, the engaging problem-solving aspect, or the continuous learning opportunities. Here are a few reasons why individuals might find programming appealing:

1. The pursuit of constant growth and lifelong learning - Coding is not a one-time task; it requires ongoing refinement and improvement. There is no perfect or bug-free code, and the tools and resources used in programming are always evolving. This continuous learning process can be incredibly enjoyable, as you can apply your newfound knowledge in real-world applications.

2. The financial rewards - It's well-known that software jobs often come with high salaries and, at times, excellent work-life balance. Some people may be drawn to the field not for the creative problem-solving, but for the opportunity to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle.

3. The sense of autonomy and self-assurance - The realm of programming and computer science is vast, encompassing numerous sub-fields (such as backend, frontend, game design, mobile apps, and software). Learning the basics can serve as a launching pad for pursuing your passions later in life. Whether you want to start a business, create games, or impact millions of people through infrastructure or backend solutions, programming offers endless possibilities for achieving your dreams.

4. Creative problem-solving - For some, overcoming a challenging problem is incredibly rewarding. Experiencing that "aha" moment when everything finally clicks and works is priceless. As a coder, you'll have the opportunity to develop products that solve problems, which can be gratifying when you see their impact on customers.

To determine if this field is right for you, it's essential to explore it firsthand. If any of these reasons resonate with you, continue pursuing computer science! If not, perhaps you'll discover your own motivation to grow in this area. With the world shifting towards a more digital landscape, programming is an invaluable skill, regardless of your ultimate career path. Keep up the great work!
