I am a nursing student trying to decide if I should get an internship.

I don't think internships are necessary to get a job, but I do think they can help prepare you or give you additional understanding of a job's roles & responsibilities before fully committing to that career path. If you have the time, I would recommend participating in an internship! I participated in 3 internship programs and believe they helped me figure out what I wanted to do after college!

Internships are definitely not required to land a job in your field of choice, but should you choose to do one, having it on your resume along with the actual knowledge and experience will put you ahead of Peers who have not.

Getting an internship will guide you through the future career. Most volunteers guarantees on internships, which you may apply to. If you have not experienced volunteering yet, in this case you have to due to your major. Internship is an important step that will not only build your career development, most internships will be a rewarding experience in the future.
Before getting an internship, in-person interview and post-exam(s) are significant key step for your chance of getting an internship career. Once you passed group work, interview, and the final interview, you will have a chance to develop your hard and soft skills, and emotional imtelligence as well as health practices.
During interview, you may need to tell your previous extracurricular experiences like volunteering, academic projects, thesis/dissertation (if you are studying or became a graduate), or you are previously awarded by the university due to your higher mark in total. Even if you had included these on your CV, you have to tell your experiences in advance. If you passed on the first interview, you will be contacted for the next step. In group work or assignment, you wilk be required to pass, and you have to show your ability and health practices. If you passed, they will get in touch with you.
In the final interview, they will ask why you should be hired, how you will do your job role as a nurse, do your satisfy with your salary etc. You have to be prepared before it is too late. You need to surf the internet for final interview questions. If you passed the final interview, you must celebrate your success.
After interview, they will test you about 30 days initially, and then 60 days finally; the reason is that they may expect to adapt their rules and complete missions everyday. Employers are looking for people who have initiative, drive, constant and internships are a good way to show this on your resume and your interview. While it is not necessary it is helpful to show you have learned skills that expanding into the career you are looking for.
It is a good way to try a new role/industry to determine if you like the role and industry.
