This Video is all that you need. If you have a phone you have a camera. make a 30 second to 1 minute film. Do it again and again and try to get better. Post it everywhere. Keep doing it just for the love of doing it. You dont need an expensive college. You can take a cheap class at a continuing ed class for anythng that you think you are weak in.

Something to keep in mind is that different video platforms have different audiences and those audiences have varying interests. For example, people who watch a video on YouTube may not watch the same type of content on TikTok or Instagram.

If you're publishing on YouTube (and highly encourage that), YouTube allows you to see what's called "analytics" where it shows you how long people are watching your videos. Watch time shows that people are truly engaged in your content. Try to find the patterns in those videos that have longer watch times, and then you'll begin to build a content strategy that can help build an audience.

Also, YouTube is the second most powerful search engine in the world. Google being number one. But Google owns YouTube. While YouTube is a video platform, people use it to search all kinds of things. By posting on YouTube, you have a better chance of showing up in someone's Google search if they're looking up a subject that's related to the content you provide.

Basically you should look at your most engaged audience and build upon the content you create that they like the most :-)

Good luck with your journey!

Hey DeMarreau, such a good question! From my experience, creating what *you* enjoy is the most important. It can sound counter-intuitive, but the more personal your art is, the more mass appeal it generally brings. So as long as you're creating what you love to create, then your audiences will naturally follow.

What kind of videos interest you the most? What kind of movies/videos do you find yourself watching most often, or most inspired by? Short form or long form?

And it's more than okay to not have these answers right now (I sure didn't when I was a student). Slowly, you'll find them, and you'll find what type of video creation makes you the happiest and the most energized. Once you do that, your audience will come! Keep at it! Film away!

Robert’s Answer

Isn't it true that beauty lies in the beholder's eyes? So, what you find appealing may not be my cup of tea. However, I believe the simplest way to craft content is to identify a problem and then provide a solution. Think of your narrative as a journey from PROBLEM to SOLUTION. Sure, it's not really an arc but more of a straight path, but let's break it down further.

Firstly, let's start with these questions:
What's the problem you wish to address?
Can you describe the problem in more detail?
What's the root cause of this problem?
Is this problem common to others as well?
Has anyone attempted to tackle this problem before?

The core of your content should then be:
Here's a solution I devised... I tried but didn't succeed... and here's why.

To conclude your content, you should say:
Here's how I eventually cracked the problem.

This is basically The Hero's Journey - a pattern that underlies every beloved story, from Star Wars to Harry Potter. The hero is faced with a challenge, they strive to conquer it, they stumble but ultimately triumph in the end.
