Is it manageable to work part time, pursue a sport and get decent grades in university?

I'll be joining uni soon and I wanted to know if working part-time (about 12-15 hours per week), pursuing a sport(in my case swimming) and achieving good grades is feasible for a student and how much time should I devote to each?

If you are pursuing a part time degree or appearing as an external candidate in the university or going to a night college then it is quite possible, provided you can manage the time for all the activities you have mentioned.
However if you really want to work only for financial assistance then I would not suggest you to do this, search for scholarships or other financial assistance because it is always better to get proper education through regular educational system

Hello Dhrumil,

Congratulations on joining the university! I'm sure you are excited in this new phase of your life.
I like your thought process of working part time, playing a sport and also looking at getting good grades in the university.
Yes it is absolutely possible, provided you prioritize and manage your time well.

I assume it's your first year in the University and there will be times when you get either overwhelmed or excited in the new world. Please give yourself some time to listen, learn and observe your surroundings.

It would be good to follow a goal based approach and take it one at a time.
Ask yourself these questions...

What do I need to concentrate in the next 3-6 months. Do I know my priorities?
Do I have all I need to achieve it? If not, how should I go about it?
Is there a friend or senior who is also doing something similar? What can I learn from them?
Where am I spending the most time and does it align to what I want to achieve?
How can I plan my day to achieve my goals?
Can I afford flexibility in my day without hampering my other goals. For example, you play your sport and did not concentrate much in
your studies for that day, how do you plan to accommodate the time lost in your studies.

I know doing too many things sounds exciting, but it requires good amount of planning and retrospection. Be open to new ideas and learn from the process.
Over time , I'm sure you will find out which works for you and can go for it.

Wish you all the very best!!!
