Another really great question.
What type of engineering are you interested in? Engineering is a great focus and in big demand in the workplace - and different types of engineers will have different types of opportunities.
Well the type of engineering I'm interested in at the moment is Bioengineering.

Hi DION S. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.
While I love the fact that you ask about companies that those with engineering majors work, I will be a bit more expansive in my answer. Yes, there are many engineers that work in companies. But..you also have many engineers that work in places of government. There are many engineers who create their own businesses.
Speaking for myself, after I graduated with my engineering degree, my first job was for an investment bank. May seem a little strange but, large banks rely heavily on strong networks. I also worked summer internships with companies that have government ties. So think of areas of defense and/or military. For sure, I have also worked for companies that have an entertainment element. Think of delivering TV to a home or streaming services.
I do hope that after reading this, I have shared that people with engineering majors are in many places. I say "in many places" because sometimes they just give their time...they volunteer so that they are working even without pay. Overall, engineers bring strong problem solving skills to areas where they are needed.
