Fantastic inquiry! Although I'm not a vet, I'd imagine the most significant hurdle is that your "patient" can't express what's troubling them. As a result, you have to lean on external resources like the pet's owner, changes in the animal's behavior, and modern technology, much like you would with a human. However, while we adore our pets, there's a limit to what we can or are willing to spend on them. We wouldn't think twice about performing necessary surgery on a human, but for animals, the cost, recovery period, and so on, could make these options less frequently utilized. It can be quite challenging, considering you're navigating the realm of healthcare with its high costs and the constraints of treating a pet.

Afreen’s Answer

Managing the emotional strain of working with sick and injured animals and their owners is one of the most difficult parts of being a veterinarian, both during training or at job.
The veterinarians are also frequently involved in making bonds with their animal patients and caregivers, and sometimes it may become difficult to cope when things become unfavorable for them or when difficult decisions have to be made .
Another challenge could be the constantly changing nature of veterinary medicine and also staying up to date with the research advancements in order to provide best possible care to patients.

Cassandra’s Answer

The most frequent hurdles I've encountered in my professional journey involve situations where I'm unable to provide assistance. There are instances where the animal's condition has deteriorated too much, or when the pet owners are financially unable to cover the costs of treatment. The medical field, in any capacity, will inevitably challenge your emotional resilience and patience.
