Dining out has become a trend in recent times. The food industry across the world is constantly registering a decent growth rate, specifically in the big cities. Candidates who have passed 10+2 or the equivalent examination can take up courses to become chefs. In order to register for the bachelor's degree or diploma courses, graduating in 10+2 is required. The duration of the course varies from one institute to another. While pursuing a course, a candidate will also learn about the other related fields such as housekeeping and general management. Candidates will benefit from a course when it offers any specialization such as baking. After the bachelor's degree, one can also aim for a master's degree. After completing a bachelor's degree, a certificate course from an institute, one can join any hotel as an intern. One can also opt for an apprenticeship in the hotel after graduating from class 12. A trained chef will find many opportunities in hotels and restaurants. They will also get placements in the air catering industry, food processing companies, catering in confectioneries, cruise, clubs and corporate companies. One can also think about setting up their own business related to food and catering. So considering all the factors mentioned here, it might be 10 years post your studies.

There is no one path to becoming a restaurant owner. The amount of formal education varies--some restaurant owners did not go to college, others have MBAs (that's 2 years in addition to 4 years of college). Before opening your own food business, it's very important have experience working in the type of restaurant that you're interested in opening. You'll need to spend a few year working in restaurants and doing as many different jobs as possible.

When you own a food-service business you'll need to develop menus, order supplies and inventory, manage your staff, create and carry out marketing / PR drives to bring in customers, and doing a lot of paperwork to make sure that you are complying with lots of different local, state, and federal laws. Before opening a business, you should get exposure to as many of those aspects as possible.

Another consideration that may influence how long it takes to open your own business is how easy it is for you to get the money to open a business. You'll need money to rent space, buy equipment, buy inventory, pay your staff--if you already have the money, then you could spend it directly, but if you don't have the money, you'll have to spend time raising the money.

I have friend who's wife is focusing on bakery. She spent 5 years to grow up and now they give up their full time job and only operate their own business. They're super popular now by selling seasonal bakery products in the grocery stores and online delivery app. They're also active on social network app like tik tok or youtube, which is a good way now to promote their business.
