Roger’s Career Stories
What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?
Don't get hung up on picking the occupation that you will have for the rest of your life. The dept of labor (at one time , I worked for it) indicates that the average number of occupations or career fields that most college graduates today will have is about eight. I am older but I have been in about four-theater, education, human service, and now, I am an entrepreneur, a life coach, that combines all of them. Your most valuable skill will be the ability to be flexible and know how to navigate through a rapidly changing marketplace. Many jobs that you train for may not even be in existence in several years. You have to learn to be yourself and know yourself throughout your highly fluid career.
