CareerVillage and PwC Collaborate to Create an In-Person Volunteer Experience for Hundreds of Interns

CareerVillage offers in-person volunteer opportunities that can be customized. Read to find out how CareerVillage teamed up with PwC to get hundreds of volunteers involved in advising students at their intern conference in Orlando, Florida.

PwC Impact 2023

Every year, PwC organizes a trip to Disney World to create an experience for interns that helps distinguish PwC from other firms. When PwC was designing the different group experiences interns would take part in, they surveyed potential new hires to figure out what they cared about most when considering where they wanted to work. Results showed that one of the top things they are motivated by is activism. In response, PwC chose to highlight its involvement with different non-profit organizations at their 2023 summer intern conference. PwC created “Impact Zone,” which lets  service organizations share their mission and get interns involved in volunteering – both during and after their time at PwC Impact 2023!

CareerVillage at Impact Zone

CareerVillage worked with PwC and an experiential marketing agency to create an interactive display where PwC’s interns could learn more about CareerVillage’s mission and PwC’s role in supporting students on CareerVillage, and volunteer in a variety of ways. The CareerVillage team selected student questions from CareerVillage that were relevant to PwC interns, which were then printed out on poster board and attached to a giant whiteboard. Participants were encouraged to grab a marker and share their answers to those student questions. It didn’t take long for the whiteboards to begin overflowing with incredible pieces of wisdom. This written advice was then recorded and posted on CareerVillage for students to see!

PwC interns also had the chance to stop by kiosks that were logged into CareerVillage.org and browse the platform for a question of their choice to answer. Some interns worked individually, and others worked in groups to draft out thoughtful pieces of advice to post on CareerVillage.

The result was incredible: over 350 pieces of advice posted on the CareerVillage platform and hundreds of engaged volunteers over the course of the conference. Check out some of the pictures below:
