Our ProTip series is designed to help Professionals on CareerVillage.org create advice that will become the best answer for any student looking for the answer to a question.
Introducing ProTip Three:
“If a student asks an objective or factual question, make sure you give a factually correct answer.”
Unless a student is asking for opinions, make sure the information you share with students is truthful. Tens of thousands of students will read answers attached your profile. The best answers will state accurate facts.
Why?
Factual answers foster trust and enhance credibility. Our hope is that students will conclude their research with the answers they receive at the Village because they can fully trust the advice professionals write for them.
How do you know it when you see it?
All stated facts are supported by research and direct, objective experience.
Examples From the Village
Daniella gives amazing facts to help define the difference between a Psychologist and a Psychiatrist:
“Psychologists receive graduate training in psychology and pursue either a… Doctorate programs typically take five to seven years to… Other states require another year or…”
John gives specific objective details on how long it takes to become a Cardiologist:
“…13–14 years or more to become a cardiologist. State license is required…and board certification is desired by nearly all employers.”
