Hi Ruth,
Scholarships come in many forms and amounts. The key to getting more scholarships is to keep applying! Keep searching, keep applying and don't give up!
Look for local scholarships, ask your counselor if they know of any.
Look for scholarships at your college even after you get an academic scholarship.
Look on scholarship sites.
Keep looking all throughout college! Many scholarships are offered even if you are not a freshman.
You can work part time at many places that will give scholarships or tuition reimbursement. Taco Bell, Mcdonalds, Chipotle, Papa John's to name a few.
You can also consider going to community college for 2 years to save money and transferring after- as long as you can still get scholarships when you transfer.
The best way to get scholarships is to ask for help! Talk to your counselor, the financial aid office at college and ask your parents to help you find scholarships.
I hope this helps!
