Does anyone know of Biblical counseling scholarships?

My plan is to study at Spurgeon College with a Bachelor's in Christian Ministry and a Master's in Biblical Counseling, but my tuition is 10k/yr more than I am able to pay. Any help is appreciated.

I am a service-motivated person, and I would rather have no debt out of college so that I can only charge counselees what is necessary. I plan to work within a church or non-profit setting, but I can't do that without the necessary money to get my degree at any college, not just Spurgeon.

Hello again, Meadow !

If you are referring to Spurgeon College in Kansas City, Missouri, that college offers scholarships to enrolled students. They also make arrangements to assist students that have a financial need. If you're living in Florida and planning on going to Spurgeon College in Missouri, yes, that would be expensive because they charge an enrollment fee, plus you'd have to pay for housing in addition to out of state tuition. Even if this is not the college you are referring to, I think I can give you some advice in general about how students cover expenses.

In the comment on your previous question, you said you wanted to be debt free after college, so I'll touch upon that, too.

Attending a local college will be less expensive because you are a resident of the state and you wouldn't have to pay out of state tuition. Community College for the first two years is less expensive than a four year college. I understand that you will have a very specialized Major that some colleges offer but most do not offer that particular Major for the degree you are planning to take. Have you already received scholarships and know the total amount you've received ? If not, there's no way to tell how much scholarships would cover. You definitely need to call whatever college you are referring to and speak with their Financial Aid Department.

For financial assistance with college, students apply for Federal Student Financial Aid. The money comes in four forms, grants, work study, scholarships and loans. On the application, you select which forms you want the money in. Loans would be the only thing you'd have to pay back. If you don't want to pay back any of the money, do not check the Loan option on the application. This is something you need to speak about with the financial aid officer at the college you'll attend. It's called Loan Refusal.

There are numerous scholarships that student apply for listed on various websites. Some of them are Scholarships dot com, Fastweb, Studentaid dot gov, Going Merry, Peterson's, Niche, Bold dot org, Chegg, Cappex, Scholarship Owl, Unigo and Career One Stop. There are an enormous amount of scholarships for Christian Ministry college students. To search to find the list of these, use the Brave search engine and type in "Scholarships for Christian Ministry Majors". There are just too many to list here. You can apply for scholarships and grants that are not specific to your major, but other ways you may qualify to apply. One scholarship is the John Q. Schisler Scholarship and the Doris W. Frey Memorial Scholarship. Do a search for it online. This scholarship is given by the General Board of Higher Education & Ministry and the Southwest Florida Community Foundation. Contact those groups to see if there are any more scholarships they offer even if you'll be going to college out of state. I don't think you're in Southwest FL, though. Contact them to be referred to similar scholarships for people who live in your area. If you ask more questions about scholarships, mention if the college is the one in Kansas City, Missouri.

I hope this helps for a start and I wish you a wonderful day !
