What is your recommendation? I have decided that I would like to attend law school after my undergraduate degree. Do you recommend majoring in Political Science or Business with a Pre-law focus ?
I am attending the University of Florida and cannot decide what major will be best to attend law school.

HI, Makenzie !
The better Major would definitely be Political Science, without a doubt. Through this path at the University of Florida, you will learn research, critical thinking, government, politics, law and electives such as international relations and U.S. government. These are the subjects that directly support a career as an Attorney and will probably make Law School go smoother for you.
Business would not support Law School and you may be taking classes for the major that you'll never apply directly to Law. Your college's Business major includes courses in economics, accounting, finance, management, marketing, statistics and business communication. That's good for going into business, but you'll want to take a major that will prepare you for Law School best.
Seeing as Law Schools accepts a degree in any undergraduate major, it's great that you were considering Political Science. Keep in mind that you will be doing projects for your major, too. It may be better for you to do law and government projects as opposed to advertising and accounting if you chose the business Major. I think you'd enjoy the Poli Sci major since your ultimate goal is Law School.
By taking a Political Science Major, there may be opportunities for you to have volunteer work, have a Work Study job or be placed in an Internship at a law office, Legal Aid organization, city, state or county office which will be a beneficial opportunity for you before Law School. Political Science professors will be much more valuable for information, telling you about community events connected to government and law than a Business professor would ever be able to.
I hope this helps in your decision making process and I wish you all the very best in all you do !
