Hello, Coryn !

If you would say what field of work you are in and what type of job you are looking for, I could better advise you. That's okay, perhaps you need additional information that can set your mind at ease.

According to the Department of Labor regarding the developments in the Labor Market in New York City this year, there's good news. Jobs in New York City rose by 60,800 over-the-year to 4,220,600 in March 2025 ! There are increases in jobs in education, healthcare, professional, business and information services, too. I am not sure where you acquired your perspective, but you also live in one of the most opportune cities in the country.

As an actress, I receive hundreds of casting opportunities daily via e-mail, many in New York State, as well, new studios are being built in New York, even in my teeny one horse town. But that relates just for my career. What career are you seeking ?

I'm wondering if you are looking for work in just Manhattan or all five boroughs. It would broaden your scope to apply for work in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, Staten Island as well as Manhattan. If you have a car and it's something you may want to consider since you're having a time applying, interviewing and getting a job, try applying to jobs in Westchester County, too.

If you are having a time with applying for jobs, return to the college that you graduated from and visit the career center as well as your major department to inquire about jobs in your field. Don't solely look online. Take a visit to the Department of Labor - where people apply for unemployment - and look on their boards for a job. You can also register at their website to look for jobs, too. You can also try random resume and cover letters sent to companies that hire in your field.

I hope this helps and hope you return here to ask more questions as you move forward. I wish you all the best !

Hello!

I’m graduating in May 2025, so made a LinkedIn account and started applying for jobs right away. I would apply for jobs that are related to your interests and to your major. I hope this helps!
