What is the best way for a senior in high school to start to prepare to take the LSAT?

I have already enrolled in college in legal studies just looking for additional tips that could give me a head start.

Good for you for thinking ahead, Addison! Since you likely will not take the LSAT until your junior year in college, this is way ahead. But here are some thoughts on preparing:
- If there is a pre-law advisor on campus, get in touch early. He/she likely will have advice and resources.
- Take courses that hone your critical reading skills and improve your writing skills. These will be relevant to the exam itself . No matter your skill level, you could always improve.
- After you are settled into college (maybe sophomore year), go to the LSAC site (they administer the exam) and look at the types of problems - 3rd link. You could look now, but the types of questions may change by the time you take the exam.
- About 6 months before you plan to take the exam, take a practice test or at least try some of each type of question. I suggest taking a full practice test because it will also indicate what type of stamina you will need. If you can't take a full test, trying each type of question will let you know which questions are most difficult. I suggest practicing every type of question but focusing on the weaker ones.
- Regarding questions, quality is as important as quantity. Invest in books or an online course that will teach strategies for the multiple-choice questions and essay. There may even be free resources on campus. Practice the strategies over time so they feel automatic. This will help your confidence and energy on test day.
- Find a study buddy or two. With everything going on in college, it may be tough to study for the LSAT also. Working with someone else can make it more fun, which could increase your motivation.
I have put a few more resources below - good luck!
