How can I get the best graduate school offer?

I am a college transfer student pursuing Mechanical Engineering. My mom remarried a few months ago, and consequently, my SAI went from $8,000 to $45,000. Thus, I received no financial aid, and I must take out student loans to completely pay for my schooling, as my mom cannot support me. I am worried about the debt, and I want to know what approach I can take to ensure I can pursue my master's degree without more loans, allowing myself to start chipping away at my student debt directly out of undergrad. How can I best accomplish this?

You might consider finding a part-time job first to get your own W-2 and file your tax return independently. This way, you can apply for a refundable education credit. Additionally, try to keep your W-2 income within the qualifications for financial aid. Good luck!
