Hi Callie,
Cosmetology school is a unique path that doesn't need a two or four-year degree like many colleges. You can usually get your cosmetology certification in about 6 months to a year. Some areas might need extra experience beyond the certification, but overall, it takes less time than a traditional college degree. The exact time can vary depending on what you want to do, like being a hairstylist, nail technician, or lash technician. Hope this helps!

Hi Callie,
In Indiana, aspiring cosmetologists need to be at least 18 years old and have completed at least 10th grade education. Licensing requires 1500 hours of training from an accredited beauty culture school and passing written and practical licensing examinations.
I hope this helps! All the best to you!
