Steve’s Answer

Critical thinking is going to be an even more important skill. Keep developing your skills there! Seek advice and read as much as you can on critical thinking. Check the sources cited and use critical thinking skills to see if this feels right. By engaging with content that you feel is inclusive, platforms like chatgpt learn from those signals and the model will converge as the interactions will feed into the next round of data for training. Its not the only answer but its part of the solution.

Julie’s Answer

AI is a wonderful tool that can help flesh out your thoughts, or generate ideas for you to explore. To be sure that you are getting what you want out of it, its important to be very thoughtful in your AI prompting. To be sure you get inclusive content from your AI agent, be sure to include the audience you are writing for. Be as specific as you can be. Include any Generational, Cultural, and Demographic information you have access to. Iterate on your original prompt as often as necessary.

Patrick’s Answer

Personally, I try to review my prompts, data, etc. to ensure that I am taking into consideration what I believe to be an diverse audience. I work with my clients to ensure that their governance boards that are responsible for AI models that they also include diverse thought, actions, etc. in the development of those models. This should ensure that the data that is being trained represents a wide range of perspectives not just a single person or a single culture. This can be done by using test systems across a very diverse set of demographics. I also make sure that I setup forums where I can actively seek feedback so that I can train my models to be inclusive especially when it comes to underrepresented minorities. This ensures continuously improving my models to reduce bias. Lastly I would say you also need to take into consideration accessibility features within your models.

Pareen’s Answer

To ensure my use of AI is inclusive, I actively consider how unconscious bias can influence both the data and the design of AI systems. I start by questioning the assumptions behind the data I use—asking who is represented, who might be missing, and how that could affect outcomes.

I also advocate for diverse perspectives during development and testing phases, especially when AI tools are used in decision-making that impacts people. Importantly, I don’t rely solely on AI outputs; I apply human judgment to interpret results through an equity lens. By staying aware of my own biases and encouraging transparency in how AI models are trained and deployed, I aim to create experiences that are fair, respectful, and accessible to all users.
