I am a 10th grader currently and I am looking at colleges like Caltech or Georgia tech for after highschool and get a PHD in bioformatics to include my love for math and science . I have done one math competition so far and am currently working on a science portfolio for Regeneron Talent Search I even started my own math Club at my highschool. However I had a rough start freshman year, but will have a 3.8 by the end of this year, so I don't know If I have a chance at all. What are my chances at achieving my goals, or what am I missing?

Hi Sarah!
A 3.8 GPA will get you into plenty of colleges. Take a look at this website: https://www.collegesimply.com/guides/3.8-gpa-colleges/
But unless you are thinking about a scholarship, or your parents / sponsor have plenty of money for your college goals, you might want to consider the cost of out-of-state tuition, which can be enormous. For example, California out-of-state tuition is more than three times the cost for California residents. I read that the resident tuition for CalTech is $56K this year. Here's a website that shows you average tuition costs by state: https://www.collegetuitioncompare.com/state/
Anyway, good luck with your journey - you're going to do great! We need more STEM women!
