Paul’s Answer

There are several things to consider if you want to become a good lecturer:

To be a good college lecturer, you must know your material, and be able to keep the attention of the student audience.

You should concentrate on establishing an engaging and inclusive environment by being passionate, empathetic, and approachable to the student population.

You must also be a good speaker, and be able to deliver content through clear communication and varied teaching methods.

Also having skills such as strong organization, time management, and connecting with students on a personal level are also crucial for your success.

Kristy’s Answer

Hi Yusuf.

To become an excellent lecturer, it is important to consider the basics:
1) Speak with confidence: A confident tone builds trust and authority.
2) Meet your audience where they are: Tailor your content to their knowledge level and needs.
3) Engage actively: Use questions, examples, or interactive elements to keep attention and promote understanding.
4) Focus on retention: Engagement isn’t just for interest, it helps your audience remember and apply what they learn which I'm sure is your ultimate goal.
5) Ask for feedback: Continued iteration and improvement of your content with feedback from your audience will accelerate your path to excellence.

Ingrid’s Answer

Hello! It might seem a bit unusual, but try studying acting. Being a great lecturer is a lot like being a good actor. Both need to make things interesting and tell a good story. You don't need to go to a fancy acting school; a local, fun place will do. Plus, you'll get to meet some really interesting people along the way.

Ingrid recommends the following next steps:

Search local acting groups
Watch acting videos

Hi, Yusaf Isa. That’s a powerful aspiration—and you’re already laying the foundation by studying environmental health science. Becoming an excellent lecturer in this field means blending deep subject knowledge with the ability to inspire, communicate, and connect. Here's a roadmap tailored to your journey: I took an Environmental class which was apart of my Social Work Degree plan. I learne so much in the course and realized how important it is to the world. Here is what I think:

Myeshia recommends the following next steps:

Build Expertise in Environmental Health Science
Develop Strong Teaching and Communication Skills
Practice clarity: Learn to explain complex ideas in simple, relatable terms. Use analogies, visuals, and real-life examples.
Apply your knowledge: Volunteer, intern, or participate in research projects to gain real-world experience and case studies you can later use in teaching.
Engage your audience: Ask questions, encourage discussion, and use interactive tools like simulations or fieldwork.

Wong’s Answer

Hi Yusuf Isa. If you want to become an excellent lecturer in Environmental Health Science, it's important to start preparing early. Since you are currently studying for your bachelor's degree in this field, you have a great opportunity to build the right knowledge, skills, and mindset.

First of all, you need to focus on understanding your subject deeply. Environmental Health Science covers a wide range of topics such as water and air quality, waste management, occupational health, and environmental laws. Make the most of your classes, do extra reading, and stay updated with current environmental issues and scientific developments. A strong academic background is key to becoming a trusted and confident lecturer.

Good teaching also depends on how well you communicate. An excellent lecturer can make complicated topics easier to understand. Practice explaining ideas in a clear and simple way. You can start by helping your classmates or joining study groups. Using real examples and case studies from real life can also help make your teaching more interesting and practical.

Besides knowledge and communication, strong teaching skills are essential. Learn how to organize your lessons, use teaching tools, and evaluate students fairly. If you get the chance, work as a teaching assistant or volunteer to present topics in class. These experiences will help you feel more comfortable in front of a class.

As a current lecturer, I can say that the journey is not always easy, but it is very rewarding. With hard work, a love for learning, and a desire to help others grow, you can become an excellent lecturer in Environmental Health Science.
