Why isn't there a unique individualized career finder that is made to allow the user to input their own enjoyment and likes instead of the current andwer these questions and get a generalized answer? What does a person need to do to work with someone who is willing to develope this idea if mine into an actual working and useable guide? I have some very good insights as to how it could be structured but need more people to have their input because im not sure on a lot of aspects anyone know how to do this without breaking the bank account? ?
I am xonfused as to what career would be best for me. The standard career assesment shows me careers that i dont think id want to be in at all.. its not factally based on my personal enjoyment and likes in what i would enjoy without it feeling like work and thats the only way to choose a career is so it doesnt feel like work all the time... Thats why some people are miserable all their life. I don't want to be miserable. I want a tool that i can input what i like and enjoy doing and then this tool can determine which careers would suit me based upon their usual duties performed daily etc. it would be more inclusive and specific than the current career assessment. It would actually help find something i would be like yea that one. A list of the requirements to get employment and a list of usual daily tasks and duties performed and even some unusual one too. #Fall25

It's great to see you back here again !
If it is advice you need for a career, I think you need look no further than Career Village ! Even though I don't know anything about creating a website to tell people what career they should have, I think that I can give you some advice. Your interests are in Research, Art, Anthropology, Archeology and Entrepreneurship, so those are the fields a person can work in, but you're looking for exact jobs/careers. I am not sure if you are in high school, planning to attend college or already in college.
The good thing, since you like research, is that you can be involved with research at such a wide range of careers. You can even incorporate entrepreneurship affiliated with your art work. The amazing thing is, you do not have to do all of your interests as a combination. Now would be a good time to explore careers one by one. Your interests fall under the category of Subjects, but what role do you see yourself as doing in those subjects ? Also, I like to remind students, it's perfectly fine to have interests but they don't all have to be careers. Take your time deciding, be patient and look at your interests one by one. After exploring each subject and learning about the different roles, you can see which fits best for your lifestyle and what you would like to commit to. It doesn't have to be quickly decided. Just involve yourself in your interests and gradually you will self-discover where your niche should be.
You can obtain help for this from OhioMeansJobs Preble County office in Eaton as they provide support services. You can also visit or call the Preble County Job and Family Services office as well as the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, and the Miami Valley Career Technology Center. There aren't many employment service programs in or near your town except these.
I would encourage you to return here and ask detailed questions about your interests each in a separate post. Start exploring your favorite subjects one by one through a search online to see all of the various careers in Art, Archeology, Research, etc. But most of all, give it time and let the inspiration come naturally from life experience or activities around your interests. We all choose a career at various different ages - I was 6 when I was inspired, but it's perfectly okay to be undecided and you can enroll at college as an Undecided Major. You're not alone in this.
Only you can and should decide your career. Trying to get answers from the internet about yourself will lead you to where you are now. I highly advise going for employment services at a community or social service based program. This really needs to be done in person, from people who get to know you and can therefore know what to tell you about.
As for careers and their "usual duties done daily". . . many careers are very much filled with such variety that no two days are the same. You can get an idea of it by volunteering at a place you'd like. There are skills connected to careers, but more than not, certain careers are exiting because something different may be done everyday. I left a short video link for you below about how to choose a career.
So hang in there, Melissa. You'll be inspired. You just have to perhaps become more active with volunteer work, broaden your social circle and read up on the subjects you like. I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !
