As a college student, how do I keep myself motivated in finishing my degree?

I am a 19 year old student at the University of Texas at Dallas working part-time and being involved in extracurriculars. I am struggling to be motivated to go on especially since every paycheck I made disappears into paying off my college tuition.

It is important to take care of your mind and body as well. As a student, you should also look at what you are paying for through tuition that you can take advantage of. You are paying for it, why not? Look at the student recreation center for events to participate in. Some may offer; hiking, camping, snorkeling or other things you may have an interest in at no additional cost. It would be an interesting AI query to ask your question in reference to your particular campus. Why is available to you to help with motivation, mindlessness, stress, etc. You are not only learning academically while in college, but you can also push you level of physical and mental endurance to find out what you are capable of. Good luck, you will do well.

Hey Huda,

I understand where you are and I’ll encourage you to keep going. college is an investment into your future. Meaning at 19 you may not feel like you’re making progress seeing your paychecks go toward tuition but in time you’ll begin to see the benefits.

A seed doesn’t produce a fruit overnight. Sometimes it can take weeks, months, and years to begin to see a tangible progress, but once that progress is evident it keeps growing and growing. Freshman and sophomore year can feel like that seed stage. For me it was when i first got an internship and began actually working in the field i started to see that progress. And ive been growing in my career ever since. Stay the course and keep up the hard work the progress will show itself in due time.
