What are some other ways of finding out about who is going to be your roommate if you are going to be on-campus?
I'm staying on-campus for college instead of having to go back and forth from home to college because its 2hrs back and forth (plus traffic on I-81). I won't hear about who my roommate will be until like mid or close summer. One way my college counselor told me is to download an app called " Zeemee" to find who is going to be at the same college and who would have the same interest that I would have.

Hi kailynn👋🏻...
Waiting to find out who your roommate is can feel like you’re trying to plan for a whole new life with half the information. There are a few ways to make the process smoother and get an idea of who you might end up living with, even before the official match.
Apps like ZeeMee are great because they let you meet other incoming students, see their vibes, and even start conversations. A lot of people end up finding future roommates there. You can also join your college’s admitted-students group on Instagram, GroupMe, or Discord. Schools don’t always advertise these groups, but students usually create them early, and they’re full of people introducing themselves and looking for a match.
Another option is your school’s housing portal. Some colleges let you create a profile, answer lifestyle questions, and see suggested matches based on habits like sleep times, cleanliness, or study style.
If your school releases any events for accepted students "whether virtual or on-campus" those are surprisingly useful too. You’ll meet people casually, and sometimes that’s exactly how you find someone who feels like a good fit.
Even if you don’t find someone ahead of time, most roommate matches turn out better than expected. You’d be surprised how many friendships start from two strangers thrown together in a room. Exploring these spaces now just gives you a little more control and comfort while you wait.
