Laura’s Answer

Treat school like a job by setting specific hours each week for classes, homework, and studying. This helps you focus better and reduces procrastination. Use your free time for personal activities, family, friends, and part-time work. Sticking to this routine can make your social time more enjoyable. If possible, find a friend to follow a similar schedule for mutual support and accountability. Remember to include self-care during your personal time and let family and friends know your schedule in advance. This way, they understand if you need to decline invites or adjust plans.

Jessica’s Answer

Balancing school, work, and relationships starts with planning your week so you can see where your time actually goes and avoid overcommitting. Protect your study blocks like appointments, but also schedule downtime and time with people you care about so you do not run on empty. Learn to prioritize what is urgent versus what can wait, and do not be afraid to say no when your schedule is full. Build small routines such as meal prep, consistent sleep, and short daily reviews to reduce stress during busy weeks. Most importantly, check in with yourself regularly and adjust before burnout hits, because staying balanced is about sustainability, not perfection.

I use my calendar religiously to block out my weeks and days. Schedule time for studying and schedule time to fun! Find others who may want to study together and use that as a way to stay accountable. Surrounding yourself with the right people can help.
