Hi Shalom, that's a great way to learn a new language! You'll get to listen, speak, and pick up the local dialect just by being there. I wish I had that chance when I was in college. A whole year abroad can be pricey, so even just a summer would be amazing. Good luck, and have a safe trip! Bon chance et bon voyage

Hi, great question and you can find plenty of resources. Check out the following sites:
1. https://studyabroad.state.gov/languages/all-programs - federally funded programs
2. Center for Applied Linguistics - https://www.cal.org. Find as much as you can at https://www.cal.org/twi.
3. Many U.S. states (like California, Texas) and large districts have lists; search for "[Your State] immersion programs" or "[Your District] language programs".
4. To find overseas immersion programs, use specialized study abroad platforms like Go Overseas and GoAbroad.com, filter by location, language, and program type (like university, school, or third-party provider), read real reviews, check your own university's study abroad office, and look into government-sponsored options like those from the U.S. Department of State studyabroad.state.gov for federally funded choices. Major providers like EF Education First and CIEE also offer extensive global immersion options.

Recruit help because this requires a lot of research if you want to meet and match your own and the school's criteria.
Good luck!

Tatjana recommends the following next steps:

I also suggest the following:
High School & Academic Immersion Notre-Dame International High School (Paris): Integrates US curriculum with French life, offering semester/year exchanges and homestay options.
The American University of Paris: Provides French immersion courses, cultural excursions, and a complete Paris experience for US students.
M y warmest wish for you is to experience Montpellier - it is amazing!
