The Pharmacy Path? This is all new to me.
College is a new chapter in my life and don't know where to start. My college goals is to go to a four year school for pharmacy. Is it a good path to go down? What do other students feels once they start down this path?

The field of pharmacy has changed dramatically over the years. I have been a pharmacist for over 20 years, and even though I love what I do, I would not advise the future generation to go into pharmacy. I say that because now you have to do at least 2 residencies to be competitive. Plus there are so many pharmacy schools now, that the market is overly saturated. To get a job you may have to move to the out skirts where no one wants to be. I would seriously reconsider your path. But don't take my word for it. Research the profession. Speak to other pharmacists. I would look into becoming a PA or nurse practitioner. Less time in school, better pay, and they are in demand. If you really want job security, look into the mental health profession. Hope this helps. Wish you the best.

Pharmacy offers a wide range of career opportunities, allowing you to choose the path that suits you best. My journey began with a high school course where I aimed to get my license. Even though I didn't pass at first, I took a full-time job as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee. Through hard work and dedication, I learned the ropes and became the technician I am today. Two years ago, I faced challenges with multitasking and prioritizing, all while trying to bounce back from a tough time. Now, I've passed my pharmacy exam and work as an Inventory Specialist, traveling to different locations to support other stores when needed. If you're passionate about pharmacy, you'll enjoy the learning journey and strive to excel. Start by getting your trainee license and working in a retail pharmacy for a year or two. If you still love it, keep working hard in your four-year program and aim for Pharmacy School. This experience not only introduces you to the field but also opens doors to various opportunities within pharmacy. Best of luck on your journey!

When it comes to anything, make sure it’s something you actually want to do before you invest your time in it. It’s not worth it if you are not willing to invest your time and energy into it. Be honest with yourself about what you are actually willing to do.
Pharmacies in general have a lot of different options and paths everyone. There’s retail, warehouse, fusion, nuclear, compound, long term care, data entry, customer service, appeals, prior authorizations, and more. There are also new positions being created for both techs and pharmacists to work in. There are endless opportunities and possibilities in the pharmaceutical and medical field. It is up to you, what to choose.
