It's great that you're thinking about saving for college now. At 14 or 15, you can start earning some money with part-time and flexible jobs since school is important. Just be sure to show up, be dependable, and have a positive attitude. Experience isn't a big deal at your age.
Some jobs that might work for you include babysitting, dog walking, lawn care, helping out at local stores, delivering newspapers, or assisting at community centers. If you're creative or good with tech, you could tutor younger kids, help neighbors with computers or social media, or start a small business selling crafts, baked goods, or online content with a parent's permission. These jobs let you earn money and build skills for the future.
To find a job, ask family friends, neighbors, or local businesses if they need help. You can also check community boards or look for teen-friendly seasonal jobs like summer camps, pools, or amusement parks. Start small, save regularly, and focus on learning responsibility, time management, and communication. These skills will help you in bigger jobs later and make college life easier.

It’s great that you’re thinking about saving early; that mindset will help you long term.
At 14–15, job options depend on your state’s labor laws, but common roles for your age include babysitting, pet sitting, dog walking, lawn care, tutoring younger students, working at local family-owned businesses, farms, grocery stores (bagging), ice cream shops, or fast-food restaurants that hire at 15. Some places also hire 14-year-olds with a work permit.
You can also start small entrepreneurial work, reselling items online (with parent supervision), offering tech help to neighbors, car washing, or yard work. Those often give you more flexibility and higher hourly earnings.
Most importantly, focus on balancing work and school. Your education will have the biggest impact on your financial independence later. Starting early is smart, just make sure you build skills and savings habits along the way.
