Jules’s Answer

Depending on what kind of Art you want to do, as well as what area of the business you want to get in to, will make your choice of school more relevant. Your best best is to do some research on the area you wish to get in to, and find a school that would help you complete your goals. You could go to an Art Institute, Private College, Community College, or Public University to be able to study art in general, for business, management, etc.

Jules recommends the following next steps:

Search for schools based on what you want to study.
Decide what area of art you wish to go in to as a career.
Consider cost of the school you want to attend and how it aligns with your ability to pay.

Zihang’s Answer

Hi Zoe,

From my past experience, it really wasn't about choosing an art school but to choose what art program. Art has a various range such as literature like drama & poetry, performing arts of dance & music, and then there's visual arts like design, painting, and so much more!

Back in high school I asked myself the same question, where should I go? does it worth it to pay that much to go to an art school? are all art schools same or should I only look for the famous ones? Will I make a career out of art?

So I took a pre-college course at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco during my last year in high school and that helped me made my decision. It also helped me define the area that I'm actually interested in. I would't say AAU is the best art school out there but it was the one that fits me the most. Also, San Francisco is full of art surprises!

Finally, Good luck researching and have fun!!!

Zihang recommends the following next steps:

Research areas of art and see which one interest you the most.
try out a pre-college course at a school (maybe a different city to get inspired ;)
Start practicing! Don't just wait, some programs might require portfolio. But it's always good to jump ahead anyway!
