Hi Josiah, it's great that your tío is a truck driver and has inspired you to consider the same career. Truck driving offers solid opportunities. To get started, you'll need a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). You can work toward this at 18 for in-state driving or 21 for interstate routes. Most people attend a truck driving school, which takes a few weeks to a couple of months, and some companies may cover your training if you commit to working for them. You already have a good understanding of safety topics like electronic logs and hours of service regulations, which is important since compliance is a key part of the job. Truck driving also involves spending long hours on the road, staying focused in various conditions, and maintaining your health. With experience or by specializing, you can earn a good income. Keep learning from your tío, as his guidance will be valuable as you pursue this path. You've got this!
