One thing I tell my staff, regardless of years of experience, is the "so what" moment. Threats exist every day, but what does it mean to the company's ability to run its business?
Every technical response you provide, try to add a user impact statement as well. CVEs and threats don't mean much to a senior leader, but if you say that threat X exists and it will prevent us from using our customer service platform, you now turned a highly technical topic (the CVE) into something a business leader can relate to.
Best of luck.

As a cybersecurity professional, it's important to learn the basics of networking protocols like MCP/TCPIP and DNS, as well as operating systems like Linux. Understanding some real-world models used by tech companies in security can also be very helpful.
Check job portals like Glassdoor and Indeed for popular job roles and interview questions. This can give you a great start in your job search. Take the time to carefully read job descriptions to fully understand the roles and responsibilities. For example, if you're applying for a security engineer position, make sure you know what the job typically involves and apply that knowledge to the specific role.
Don't be afraid to ask the recruiter about the details and expectations of the interview.

Hi!
Cybersecurity interviews do not always include a DSA round. It depends on the role and company. For most cybersecurity roles, interviewers focus more on networking, Linux, operating systems, security fundamentals, common attack types, tools, and scenario-based problem solving. To prepare, build strong basics and practice hands-on using platforms like TryHackMe or Hack The Box.
These days, companies also value independent projects and certifications because they show self-learning and practical skills. Having small projects on GitHub (like phishing detection, malware analysis, or log monitoring) and familiarity with tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, or Kali Linux can help you stand out. Certifications like Security+ or other beginner-level security certifications can be an added advantage, but practical knowledge matters most.
Hope this helps!😊

Hi Sanjay,
Great question! I didn't have much guidance when I started, but now I work in cybersecurity and love it. Here’s how you can get ready for a cybersecurity interview.
Begin by learning about attack surfaces and how to prevent them. Understand the basics of cybersecurity, including IAM, PAM, and network protocols. Learn how to identify and fix attack surfaces. There are many courses and certifications that can boost your resume and prepare you for a career in cybersecurity. Consider certifications like Certified Ethical Hacker or others that match your interests in the field. I hope this helps you on your journey!
