Should I take classes for physical therapy in high school?
I am a sophomore, soon going to be a junior in high school. I am not sure if I should try taking classes for physical therapy in high school or not.

Hi Asher! Honestly, yes, taking related classes now is a smart move even though most high schools don't offer physical therapy courses specifically. Load up on anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, and physics if they're available because those are the exact foundation you'll need for a PT program later. If your school offers any sports medicine, kinesiology, or health science electives, jump on those too since they'll give you early exposure to how the body moves and heals. Beyond classes, try to shadow a local physical therapist or volunteer at a clinic because that hands-on experience will help you confirm it's the right fit and give you a head start over other applicants down the road. You've got great timing as a sophomore, so use these next two years to build that strong science base and get some real-world exposure!

Any relevant science / math classes (biology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, physics), speech / communication, typing (most important class that I ever took for my daily practice), sports (teamwork / personal physical fitness), medical terminology, business classes (health care is a business), reading comprehension / writting skills.
