Ranjani’s Answer

To find the right job for you, start by clarifying your values, strengths, and interests, then match them with industries and roles that align with your lifestyle and long‑term goals. Use structured self‑assessment, market research, and networking to narrow options, and test fit through internships or projects.

Hi Bosco,

It is never too late. Many people change their career thorough out their lifetime. Try to introspect what interests you, do you have the skills .? If not then create a plan to acquire those. I stared my career in Finance and studied finance as well. Later technology interested me. I acquired those skills and switched my career. There is only one rule, Never Stop Learning. Even after 23 years, I learn something new every day.

Never give up and all the best!!

Hi Bosco,

It’s definitely not too late. What you’re feeling at 17 is completely normal, and many people go through this stage of rethinking their career goals even much later. This is actually a healthy step, not a setback and consider it as you are learning.

I would recommend you:
Reflect on your current choice by asking what specifically makes you feel that being a real estate agent may not be right for you? Is it the job itself, or only certain aspects of it that don’t appeal to you? Understanding WHY it feels misaligned is just as important as choosing something new.

Are there other fields or activities that you enjoy more than real estate? What kind of work excites you or makes you curious, even if you don’t know much about it yet? Do you prefer working with people, data, creativity, machines, planning, problem solving?
You don’t need to identify a specific job yet, just a direction should be good.

Have short term and long term goals. Short term goals will help you identify what subjects, skills, or experiences do you want to try next (courses, internships, clubs, volunteering)? Long term goals will help you with understanding what kind of life and work style do you want, example: stability, flexibility, helping others, leadership, creativity? That said, your long term goal can evolve, and that’s okay again.

Never stop exploring you don’t need to have everything figured out right away. Keep doors open, gain exposure to different fields, talk to people from different fields, and allow you to learn more about yourself.

Hi Bosco,
A change of career at any age is possible. Skills learnt through study, your current & previous roles will be never be wasted. Do think about what interests you and how you can utilise those transferrable skills. There are also lots of online training courses, that could help and would steer your CV/resume towards your new career path.

Do also look to extend your Network in the area that you are interested in.

Remember "every day's a school day", so keep learning. Good luck.

Finding the right job is more about trying different things than sticking to a strict plan. It's good to explore new opportunities and step out of your comfort zone to discover what you really enjoy.

It's okay to learn as you go when you get a chance. The important thing is to take it, do your best, and see what you can create from it. Each experience teaches you something important and brings you closer to what fits you best.

There's no perfect "right" or "wrong" job. It depends on your attitude and what excites you. If you find something that keeps you interested and motivated, it's worth going after. Even then, keep exploring and growing.

Hi Bosco,

It is not too late at all. You are still very early in figuring things out, and it is completely normal to change your mind about a career. Most people do not stick with the first, second, or even the third path they choose.

Finding the right job usually comes from trying different things and learning what you like and dislike. You can explore other interests, talk to people in different careers, or try part-time work to get a feel for what fits you. You do not have to have it all figured out right now. Just stay open and give yourself time to grow into it.

Eric’s Answer

Start by identifying what you truly enjoy doing, not just what offers the highest salary. Early in your career, focus on your interests and strengths. If you like your work, it won't feel like a chore, and you'll be more likely to grow and succeed.

However, passion alone isn't enough. You also need to be practical. Aim for a balance between work you enjoy and a job that supports your lifestyle. It's okay if you don't get it right immediately. Experiment, discover your likes and dislikes, and make changes along the way.

Remember, a good job is more than just a paycheck; it's about creating a life you love.

Shreya’s Answer

Its definitely not too late - you are just 17.
May be try asking these questions to yourself and figure out an answer:
1. What kind of work do you enjoy? - Talking to people/ Working alone/ Hands-On work/Problem Solving?
2. What are you naturally decent at? - Communication/Numbers/Creativity/organizing?
3. What kind of lifestyle do you want? - High income/ Stable routine/ Office desk job/ Outdoor?

I would say you can try before you decide in small ways.
Do small projects like:
Try coding a simple app
Design something
Sell something online
Help someone with a task
Try beginner courses - there are so many platforms available out there.

This could be a good start to figure out what you might like and want to do.
