Hi Sara,

Glad to see your question, it's very common among college student.

General speaking, the best money‑making options for an incoming full‑time college freshman are flexible and also no competing with class time or exams. The recommendation firstly are On-Campus options, such as library assistant, college office administrative assistant, cafeteria/campus supermarket part-time, campus tour guide etc., the advantage is quite obvious, more flexible that won't interfere with classes, and some positions can build office skills and provide stable income.

More options of On-Campus are Campus media operation, event planning and execution, photography and videography, new media content creation, etc., which can have hobbies combined with income, and accumulate industry experience, expand your network.

Other than above, you can try something online as well, such as copywriting, PPT/resume making, graphic design, video editing, programming, which are more flexible and you can balance your academic and part-time job easily.

Good luck, wish you a wonderful journey in your college life.

Hi Sara,

You could start with something simple and low-cost, like homemade pastries (brownies, cookies, cupcakes) and sell them by piece or in small boxes. Another great option—especially here in Mexico—is making little bags of gummies with chili, chamoy, and limón. Those snacks sell really well, and you can prepare them quickly.
My advice is not to think about starting a huge business right away. Begin with basic things and small quantities so you don’t risk too much money. You can sell to classmates, coworkers, neighbors, or even through Instagram. Also, try different flavors and prices, ask people what they like, and keep track of your costs so you know your profit. Once you see what sells the most, you can reinvest and slowly expand your menu.
