Now this depends on what setting you choose to work in. If you work in school setting, it can be about $60,000-75,000, however, depending on the school system, you will have a high caseload of students (like 50-70 kids on caseload). Outpatient pediatrics can be about $60,000-80,000 but you have to be careful with that. There are a lot of small business outpatient pediatrics that have terrible benefits or no benefits or make you a 1099 employee. Also, some places don’t pay you if a child does not show up. So if it’s a rainy day or snowy day, good luck. Also, some places don’t do PTO or 401K so be careful with that.

If you enjoy working with children and are interested in therapy, occupational therapy is definitely a career worth exploring. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual salary for occupational therapists was about $98,340 in 2024, and employment is projected to grow 14% from 2024–2034, which is much faster than the average for most careers. Occupational therapists work in a variety of settings, including schools, outpatient clinics, hospitals, early intervention, home health, and rehabilitation, so your salary can vary depending on your location, experience, and specialty.

It depends where you’re located! Some areas definitely make a little more than the above comment. However I do agree that you need to be careful in outpatient and private clinics , often times the pay sounds higher but it is because you are a 1099 employee.
